Pianono

Pianono is a small cake roll of which only fillings are margarine and sugar. It is one of the tastes I would want to go back to in our nearby bakery. Almost similar to the ube roll I presented in my previous post, the only difference is the fillings.

 Pianono
This may look big but the actual diameter is only about 2 inches :)

Ingredients:

-         3 eggs, separate white from yolk
-         3 tbsp wheat flour, sifted (most people use all purpose flour)
-         6 tbsp sugar
-         1 tsp baking powder, sifted
-         Margarine

Procedure:

-         Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
-         Using electric mixer, beat egg white until foamy
-         Gradually add 3 tbsp of sugar, beat until soft
-         In a separate bowl, beat the egg yolk
-         add to the egg and mix at low speed until combined
-         fold in the flour and baking powder, mix well
-         grease wax paper and put in a baking pan
-         pour in the mixture
-         bake for 12-15 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out dry
-         remove from oven
-         spread with margarine the top part
-         cover with wax paper, use another tray to flip
-         spread with butter the other (now top) part and sprinkle with the remaining sugar
-         roll the cake
-     slice and serve

Egg Muffin (in a tray) :)

I started baking this in a macaroon baking pan but the size would be too small and decided that the remaining mixture be cooked using a baking pan. That's why I added "in a tray" in the title :) Egg muffin is intended for breakfast but since I cooked it in evening, it served as my midnight snack, oh well not so, because I immediately eat right after cooking :) FYI, this is too cheap, and you can even look for some left over ingredients from the fridge.

                                                                        Egg Muffin

   Ingredients:

1 small can of your desired sausage, cut into small pieces (my choice is Picnic Vienna Sausage)
- about 4 tbsp tuna (I got the left over tuna)
- ½ cup fresh milk
- 3 eggs
- 1 medium sized carrot, grated
- 1 medium sized bell pepper, chopped into small pieces
- 4 slices of cheese, cut into cubes (I got the triangular shapes which I even cut into smaller cubes)
- margarine (for greasing)
- ½ tsp salt and ½ tsp pepper

   Procedure:

-    Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
-    Beat eggs and combine the milk
-    Add salt and pepper, mix well
-    Grease the baking pan with margarine
-    Put the solid ingredients to the pan starting with bell pepper, carrots, sausage, tuna, and cheese
-    Pour egg and milk mixture to the pan
-    Bake for 15-20 minutes
